    Club sharer,

You have stated a lot of onesided argument. My kids are baby boomers. The biggest mistake they made, and still make, is trying to give their kids everything that they missed out. The "baby boomers" were the children of people that worked hard and in general instilled in their children a work ethic. They paid their taxes, they built this country, they looked after their oldies and they did this on the understanding that when it was their turn they too would be looked after.

It is the next generation that wanted everything instantly without saving or working for it that has created the problem. They amassed massive credit debt to have the latest car, the biggest house, the overseas holidays, expensive social life etc, etc. Their "baby boomer" parents have born the cost of a lot of this. A lot of this cost was/is the cost of maintaing them at home well past the time they should have left the nest.

Generalisations are never going to reflect the situation for each one. If the children of baby boomers cant manage they should look inwards and see whose fault it really is. They should shoulder more of the blame and accept some of responsibility.
