as much as I would like to see Turnbull as PM, he made the fatal mistake (like Rudd) or trying to commit Australia to a carbon tax pre Copenhagen rather than waiting on the outcome...eventually the ETS cost both Turnbull and Rudd their jobs - MT for sticking to his guns and Rudd for running away.....hypothetically if MT had stayed leader then the ETS would have become law and Rudd would still have been PM and I suspect would have won the election fairly comfortably.

As for the Greens, those fools for wanting an extreme carbon tax solution instead of an ETS will now likely get neither in the next decade. The moment is lost.
