I think Toyota has been 1 of the few major ICE producers that have played their hand fairly conservatively in committing either way.
. It almost feels like they were waiting for others to establish the market so to minimize their risk while developing their range of vehicles and technology.
Also it could be that they want to go to solid state bats straight up for km range so they have been trying to get that tech to Toyota like reliable & safe standard.
I'm typical country person I'll buy Toyota over any thing else if they bring what they normally do to the table.
