Adam Bandt of the Greens in Melbourne has said he will only ally himself with the ALP. Bob Brown has said they are talking to the Coalition as well, but they have to say that for negotiation purposes. If Adam Bandt goes back on his word he will cause an outrage amongst his supporters and start his term with zero credibility. He will not do that. Therefore the ALP has 73 + 1 and the Coalition most likely will have 73 if they win Hasluck. The ALP needs two more independents and they have a minority government. I get the impression Windsor and Katter hate the Nats with a passion and Oakeshott is pro-ETS. Abbott will not do an about face and support a price on carbon (I very much doubt) so he will not get Oakeshott and two indepenents is not enough for the Coalition to form a minority government, so it seems on the face of it is all systems go for Labor, IMHO.
