ARR is an annualised revenue amount for contracts that go out several years.
Licensing revenue is backwards looking.
My understanding (if correct) is if a 3 year contract is announced at $1.2m p.a., that will be recorded as $1.2m ARR. At day 1, it will still exhibit $0 licensing revenue, even though paid upfront.
By 6 months in, licensing revenue will be $600k, ARR stays at $1.2m.
