If the libs get in of course the tax is scapped but be very careful in assuming the tax will not get up if it is a Labour Govt (looking more likely with Labour now on 73 plus one green and one progressive independent keen on Labour's broadband policy). So with the most greens enate in history (9) and 31 labour the senate will be so easy for a Labour govt to pass things through. The threat will be for Labour to not allow the greens more sway in increasing the tax.
I doubt that though as with only 1 green in the house the motion to go to the Senate would not be a larger tax. The greens are likely to knock it back though at its cutrrent form (30%) and ask for more. Then do a deal and accept it for gay marriage rights/whatever.
Gillard quickly put that WA national, who said he would go with Labour if the tax was squashed, yesterday by saying there would no backflip on the new tax!
So those media outlets out there are only making ideas about no tax up to help those in the market wnating resource sp to rise short term! BE CAREFUL!
Long term on a winner - if you ar elooking for a PUNT - be wise and investigate senate REALITIES!
