Eagle I agree private enterprise won't put money in - the ALP called for tenders and nothing was forthcoming (remember?) so the kitchen cabinet said hey, let's DIY......my point remains valid, if the return is poor why would the government recoup its money in a few years time by selling the asset, as yeldub suggests. A loss making asset is worth nothing to private enterprise.
Argue for the NBN on its merits but let's not kid ourselves we will be able to sell the asset in a few years and recoup all those taxpayer funds.
