There's a material percentage of "mum & dad" shareholders, who pick up their shares by one means or another (float, inheritance etc) and are clueless on how the world actually operates (lovies in the 'burbs, academics, often in so-called "business skoools" etc) and always vote down remuneration reports......they expect directors/executives to work for ZIP or trainee kids money!
