If Tony Abbott does not get to form a minority government, the biggest loser will be himself. Over the past months, he had built up a lot of high expectations amongst his supporters, and such an anti-climax outcome may find within some of his supporters the turning of sentiments from adoration to disappointment and to finally deserting him for another leadership challenger.
I do not think Abbott will handle well another period on the opposition bench.
