You are correct. The Germans are way ahead of both our parties in climate change and energy use. Why, because about 15 years ago the Greens started gaining power and the Govt. had to act. In fact the EU has a functioning carbon trading scheme already in place. The rise of the Australian Greens is finally pulling our major parties into action in much the same way as Europe.
