Very difficult to take them at their word now. I don’t believe it is overly emotional to say we cannot rely on these kind of predictions/projections.

They may not have been lying, but they are - at best - being easily played. Insofar as negotiations are concerned, even if they are simply reflecting in earnest what prospective suitors are telling them - chances are they are being boxed-in by smarter negotiators. It’s basic stuff: the suitor can dangle a number ($30m), which the company then stupidly leaks/hints at in their communications. Then when it’s time to contract you only offer a fraction of that number. The company are under pressure to meet the expectations they have set, and you have them where you want them. The Chinese, in fact, everyone who cuts commercial deals for a living, are going to be better at this than PAR. After seeing what the Collins Street instos have done to them, I reckon the Chinese could absolutely take them to the cleaners. They are showing themselves to be dangerously naive. I’ll recant and apologise if i’m wrong. I’m starting to feel our board is composed of people who would give their bank details to a fake Nigerian Prince.
