the long way or the short way, this is the question for the DRC
Corruption is rife in the DRC and it appears if you know who to bribe, you can get outcomes as seen by zinjin.
Should AVZ follow suite? NO - it will risk our asset in its entirety and furthermore put us against US,EU and other non-chinese parties; anti-bribery policy.
Is AVZ making progress? by the looks of it , no - they are holding legal as their path forward and sadly this makes it the long way.. Our dues will be paid though, its a just a matter of how long and how much.
What will felix do going into election and against the bishop and NGO's? The Bishop and NOG's are a powerful force in DRC and i expect felix will need to action this. Furthermore, ICSID and ICC outcomes are a risk to DRC's foreign policy and there is no way the DRC will ever ignore these outcomes.
What a mess this is....
I wish AVZ commented on the power plant which does seem to be a big issue.
What should shareholders do? What can you do? the only thing you can do is stick the course that gets you the best outcome and that is the AVZ mandated path. Voting for MMGA is the dumbest outcome you can take as clearly it wont produce any value apart from a cheap sell out.. Are we at the point where we should accepts cents on the dollar when what we have an incredibly strong legal position at international levels? If it was completely up to me, any sane person would take the legal path...
At least AVZ announced something and made it clear why they are quiet
At least Zinjin backed out of the 15% clearly setting the precedent for not being in Dathcom and therefore proving the JV remains valid; which in turn proves it cannot be separated
What a bunch if id*ots we are surrounded by, sadly to the detriment of the people of DRC
