    Yes, agree totally.
    I’ll show you an example of ‘price setting’, otherwise known as ‘price manipulation’, which the ASX seems - by their inaction - to be ok with. Note: these are my opinions and
    observations only. I am neither an expert or a financial market insider, and the conclusions I make are my own. Proving market manipulation is different from observing it…
    I guess???
    So, here is a snapshot of the closing share price auction (CSPA) which occurs between 4:00 and 4:10pm each trading day.
    At 4
    :09pm…

    See how there are just enough sells to drop the closing price half a cent to 39c. All of 13 extra shares sold will take the price down.
    Now, at 4:10pm, seconds before closing…

    Some orders have come late, and the bots quickly adjust, once again ensuring the 39c price target is hit. This time it only takes one extra share sold.
    What could possibly be the reasoning for this type of action. We know it can’t be legitimate selling because sellers want the highest price possible. You wouldn’t shoot yourself in the foot in the CSPA by driving the price down (noting that all trades which are hit in the auction are executed at that final price).
    This leaves three possible motivations:
    1) Shorting - of which there is no significant play on this stock;
    2) Holding the price down for a possible takeover bid (I have seen this blatantly executed in other stocks); and,
    3) Accumulation.

    My bet is on number three!
    GLTAH.
