this is why an institution would have to play the games described above to accumulate a decent holding:
There are simply not enough shares being offloaded to be able to build a position without taking the share price to the moon. Buying just another 2 million shares will take the price up to 50c! So, let’s instead stack the buy side with our own bids, crowding out any other legitimate buyers, and sell into the bid with one of our many accounts. We drop the price, relinquishing very few shares. We create FUD -fear, uncertainty and doubt - we hit stop losses, and we can build a position without moving the share price up. This strategy, carried out across a multitude of shares, enabled (if not perfected) by trading algorithms (bots) and we are talking millions of dollars transferred from the wallets of Mums and Dads to the institutions. Thanks for playing.
I won’t say it’s the case here, but when you see this being performed in a share trading at a very deep discount, why is it that other institutions know to stay out of the trade??? Draw your own conclusions but I am firmly of the belief that the Banksters can take share prices pretty much where they want.
