It's a retarded scheme. If I buy a slab of beer, I have to take my bottles/cans to a recycling centre instead of just putting them in my curb side recycling bin or it costs me $3(probably more as no doubt profit margins will be added).
Even worse, if I save my cans to take to a recycling centre, I can't crush them as their machine needs to be able to read the barcode.
