Because most miners & oilers probably have an obligation to the ASX to ask for a TH for the reason : ".............that there has been a significant result likely to affect the market....." or words to that effect.
And secondly, IMO, if such TH's are NOT asked for,
for that reason,
there's a fair bet that the news that is to be announced 48 hours later, will meantime leak out to the market thru unscrupulous individuals, who subsequently can probably never be detected as being guilty for doing so.
