Former deputy prime minister BarnabyJoyce says Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Energy Minister Chris Bowen are“completely denying” the economic reality of the world they’re creating.
Jim Chalmers announced at the Economic and Social Outlook Conference inMelbourne on Thursday the need for an additional $225 billion in investment ingreen technology.
“I think it is going to be verydefining for the Labor Party. It’s very defining even right now: power pricesare going through the roof, liabilities going through the floor,” Mr Joyce toldSky News host Andrew Bolt.
“If they are worried about the cost of living then the currenttrajectory they’re on is one that’s going to remove any hope of manufacturingin Australia, it means that those who are most vulnerable, the poor, are goingto become poorer.
“The economics of the world is changing and we are going to be sovulnerable if we don’t have a reality check and realise that we have to providecheap energy and what Mr Chalmers and Mr Bowen are doing is … completelydenying the economic reality of the world they’re creating.”
