ESG, It looks like I was wrong when I thought that the 'Environmental' component would be the downfall of IXR's Makuuta project ! I know we talked about the 'Social' aspect a while ago and I did suggest this may have been the reason behind Ms Kelley's untimely departure ! her being a prominent US citizen.

It is a good thing that Tim and his mates have plans B and M in their back pockets ~ although moving to Brazil and/or Madagascar will probably put any RE production date back several years.

I would not count on getting dispensation from the US, and I would expect Europe and the UK to follow their lead, 'Human Rights' are a BIG (politically sensitive) issue in all three zones these days. You only have to remember what it took for South Africa to escape their Apartheid embargo.

So if Tim wants to persist with Makuuta, it looks like he will have to go and eat humble pie with the Chinese, that is not going to be easy given the recent comments re 'breaking the Chinese monopoly'. One thing I learnt while in China was that 'loss of face' is worse than being a minority race. And of course the Chinese will certainly take advantage of that in any negotiations, IF they agree to take any product.

Still looking on the bright side, you still have Belfast, although how long it is going to take before there are enough recyclable RE magnets available to make it worth while, is a big question mark. And you will no longer have to worry about the 'E' or maintaining ESG compliance, the Chinese are usually not fussed about how their imported RE's are produced. I was going to purse the Radionuclide issue but that would be a waste of time now.

PS, The US says nothing about Saudi executions because they still do it themselves.
