Agree that "They (Gunns and its JV partners) will stare down the opposition because once its built and up and running most people will wonder what the fuss was about".

Yes, it's true that no one can actually stop building the mill at Bell Bay now.

But why don't they just build it?

My humble view is that the Greens opposition is just an excuse, and the real reasons are the lack of money and/or financial infeasibility of the mill.
