    I think if FFX tries to walk away then the Mali govt will remove LLL from the project, leaving FFX and LLL only holding some cash. Neither will have much value then.

    That to me is why both companies are treading softly. SDL were a victim of African politics and despite appealing to the International court for justice, they won't get any compensation imo.

    To me this is the reality of doing business in west Africa these days, unless you are chinese.

    It's either bend over and take the pain or lose everything. FFX and LLL may be the most affected right now but I think this is the start of a new reality that will spread, especially with critical minerals, but probably eventually across the board.
