kaya Its going to take an awful lot of silver to make a silver bullet big enough to kill the giant vampire squids that pushed the US (and world) to the edge of collapse, then you got to find a big enough cannon and huge amounts of gunpowder too, although there is heaps of gunpowder out there waiting for the spark (didnt Chinese alchemists invent gunpowder?) maybe China will provide the spark, that will hopefully kill the money alchemists (banksters) that now control the world, and the goldbugs (and silver bugs) will feast on the banksters rotting flesh.
Great post CS, to answer you question IMO there is no way out for the states that will leave the American financial landscape recognisable as it is today, it is game over or game over for the comfortable lifestyle that we are accustomed to anyway, life will still go on, we will probably have what we need, but not always what we think we need.
those cards you mentioned, would be imported for a fraction of that 50c, I would say it costs less than 50c to make most cards here, biggest cost would be the design, which would more than likely not be done in China anyway, the stock, printing, foiling and formecutting of an expensive card would probably be less than 10% of the cards selling price and that is making it here, a basic card would be imported for a few cents if that, I moved a few pallets of Xmas cards today from the foiler to the formecutter, I probably had a few million dollars worth of cards (at retail) on those pallets, there is really only one reason I can think of for importing cards from China and that reason is Greed, but will it bite them on the backside, people will notice the country of origin, there are plenty of nice cards out there to buy, and most are still made here.
PS You are sounding more and more like a goldbug CS, are you holding goldies or physical yet.
