So, it'll take a few days to put down and case a 500m mud-rotary hole. But we may get some visuals over the weekend and a TH and announcement reporting this next Monday
And then, once we reach the base of cover at say 500m down hole, we will have 300m down-hole of coring into the potentially mineralised basement rocks. This 300m down hole equates to a horizontal distance of 150m (=300 x Cosine 60)
So, in summary, of the 1,250m horizontal diameter of the central part of the Tetris anomaly (shown as the red blob on the inset diagram), we will be only testing an 150m horizontal width with this initial hole. Plus the usual provision that you never end a hole in visible mineralisation, so if it looks good, they should continue until they either run out of mineralisation or run out of rods.
It seems a rather short diamond tail after all that effort getting down there with the mud rotary.
But good enough as an initial stratigraphic hole I suppose. And from Salpetie's previous surface imagery, there are presumably other holes planned nearby. .
