agree 100%. The look-alike features is promising but also misleading as so many people take it as given that AZY will make another discovery. There is no guarantee in this business. I am not saying I am certain AZY will come up with nothing, but simply there is no guarantee. There are many reasons why the area can show same magnetic features without being mineralised. And if it is then what are the grades. Will there be high grade zone or zones?
But when drilling under cover magnetics play big role. Though I do prefer structural knowledge over magnetics. If one understands where major faults and thrusts are there is a good chance to make a discovery. These features are the ones that play the main role for fluid migrations.
Not sure if you read about Escondida. But this beast had very small magnetic high and many thought to be too small to hide any significant deposit. Turned out to be the biggest copper deposit in the world. I saw seismic scans of Escondida and it looks like Christmas tree - and that was the key why so much copper got deposited in one area. Obviously the area has to host the right rocks to allow for the mineralisation to take place along with few other things but faults and thrusts are a must.
