Once I get older I'll sell everything and move out of this country for good.

Australia is nothing like I remember it as kid. Back then crime was almost unheard of, a stabbing would make front page now it's so common it's hardly worth mentioning.
30 years ago optimism was in the air, the mining boom and money from China was making Australia the best economy in OECD countries without any depression for 2 decades. Everyone was debating how to leverage the money from the mining boom to create a new super economy.

And what happened? Sweet FA!! Politicians squandered all of it, they give themselves early retirement by law and 15% super and trillions on American weapons that basically depreciated to nothing today. No investment in high speed rails or lithium manufacturing or any visionary projects. Even the Arab states that have nothing but desert are richer than Australia by leveraging the oil wealth.

The optimism is gone. Australia as a lucky country is no more. I can sense it. Australia will continually be bled dry financially by US and UK to serve their agenda. And domestically, the immigrants come here to just exploit Australia for money and nothing else. Government have so much debt the only way they can pay it is by taxing more, and taxing more reduce economy efficiency, so they borrow more, and find new ways to tax more and the cycle continues...
