It is not specific to SGR.
Many ASX companies are awarding options and shares to executives then undertaking on market buybacks. The dilution of shares awarded to executives is removed and the share price supported. It is all combined with pages and pages of nonsense crafted by highly paid remuneration consultants. The process is designed to baffle, distract and bore shareholders.
The whole process favours the management class o er the shareholders who would do better with a distribution of cash.
