To add to your comment, re "laterally discontinuous sand", my thoughts were much the same except that my understanding was this discontinuity represented a River flow or similar, (from the time the rocks were laid down); so I would have thought that after the three drills and other info. that they would be able to map this, and so reduce the risk according.
A comment By GG or others would be interesting.
Also re. the "10 ft of reservoir" there also seem to be increased gas readings down to about 9500' shown on the log. ( Text not legible). Are these not thought to be productive?
Also as a matter of interest what does the yellow dotted anomaly represent (mid log chart). From (9280' to 93300')
