ALB could have made a silly $10 offer for LTR and I think Gina would have still bought a blocking stake. It's not so much whether Gina thinks LTR is worth $3 or whatever price ALB was offering, but the outcome she got in that ALB doesn't have control of the asset and therefore more control of global supply.
Yes, I agree that lithium wil be more like iron ore in 10 years' time, however, ALB and SQM are in the box seat to be the BHP and RIO of lithium and Gina and Chris are doing their best to prevent them from that.
