What you have to bear in mind, in retail, is that just because you are in a lot of stores, doesnt neccesarily mean you are going to sell a lot of units, if no one has heard of you, if know one knows you, and you do not have enough commited marketing funds, then you will sit gathering dust, like what is happening at the moment in best buy.
This argument that was put forward regarding walmart was this large upfront order that no longer exits, which gave it credibility that a major category buyer was backing this OTC market and device. That was not the case, and Big Box stores are back to being an unproven place to sell hearing aids, until either a large order is placed or numbers are released that shows a big box store can sell hearing aids in a non-serviced store. That my friends, is the great conundrum about OTC hearing, no one can say it works, no one can say it doesnt work, the only way to tell, are the quarterly sales figures.
