I wait to September/October to do my return- plenty of time for everything to 'prefill'. Just double check pre filling figures and add net trading profit. I keep abreast of how the tax system relates to my circumstances but would never pretend to understand anyone else's. Would never attempt to give advice. The art I reckon is to maximize franked dividends but to avoid 'dividend' traps.
Collected the WBC dividend/franking credits last week- thank you- did a quick trade on ANZ today but it feels like it could be a dividend trap- but could be wrong. More research to do yet.
