Lack of skilled operators is also a problem. Six months to be skilled at any bit of gear. Then it takes many years to learn how to drive different gear and how it is used on site. Multi-skilled operators paid a small fortune..Its a worry when someone can get a digger ticket and still have their machine fall off a bench. That's lack of experience and lack of skill... wrong person chasing the dollars and being "over promoted"... similar thing occurs with mining supervisors... promoted into the position with good paperwork skills and no real understanding of the mining process... and they need the understanding because there's a lack of plans from "the propeller heads" because there's not enough of them in the business to produce consistent & easy to follow plans.
