There is a trend in the 3, 5 and 10 day % sold short of daily volume for the dates in the table below.
I use the % term incorrectly as it's really a decimal. e.g. 0.32 = 32%

Price and shorts % trending in the right direction. This % has regularly been over 30%. From the 14 stocks I analyse shorts on there appears to be broad consistency of percentages the shorts operate in. Thanks to data provided by Kick the last squeeze to circa $2.65 occurred on rolling averages below 10% and an average of around 6%.

Thanks to Kick again for the historical data which showed a very strong correlation particulary in the 5 and 10 day rolling average analysis for an indication as to whether shorts were likely covering or doubling down.

On the 3 day data my analysis indicates potential shorts covering on 4 of 7 days.
On the 5 day data my analysis indicates potential shorts covering on 5 of 7 days.
On the 10 day data my analysis indicates potential shorts covering on 5 of 7 days.

Looking promising for a potential rise in share price. The daily share price is not outstripping the 3, 5 and 10 day average closing price by too much and this could indicate a controlled cover by the bigger shorters.

I'm optimistic going forward. I don't trade stocks and I decided to try and analyse the shorts because investing below cap raise levels, buying below directors purchases on market, buying below major investments by 3rd parties often led to further substantial declines. I'm a patient man but there had to be a better way to time my entries. This analysis takes some of the guessing out and helps with patience when you think a stock is really good value but the big boys want it lower.
