In case any newcomers are confused. The cable (or lead as I called it) connecting the transmitter to the battery is nowhere near the heart and the electrode delivering the pacing pulses inside it. Rather, they sit just below the skin. So you can imagine the cable would need to be robust enough to withstand the force of daily movements and bumps etc.
