Very much sounds to me like they have decided on what to do and had agreements with related parties sorted out for a while. To give that kind of timeframe indicates a process with a known duration (court approval maybe?) rather than how long he expects potential partners to finalise offers and deals.
Also sounds to me like we're going it alone or largely alone.
Might be some FOMO buying prior to new year.
