The engineers then need to write the report which then needs to bounce between three different internal committees, after which, all going well, and only if no further questions are raised which demand further testing, THEN Boeing will submit its submission to the FAA, which will then take God knows how long to even look at it, before God knows how longs to work through it, and only if no further questions are raised which demand further testing. So I would expect Boeing to submit by Christmas at the absolute earliest, after which the FAA will be doing FA during the winter break and spending all of January catching up, so any actual approvals wouldn't come through until Feb at the earliest, although my money's on Q2 as being more likely. And this is also assuming no US government shutdowns disrupting the FAA...
