An on site resistivity measurement on the water recovery will tell them whether its filtrate or formation water....or a mix of both. A full lab analysis will provide a more conclusive indication as to source of the water. Regardless of what the water is its important information and is critical in accessing the significance of the gas they recovered.

If they say they pumped 200L while watching the resistivity that implies that they were satisfied they had formation water flowing through the tool before they filled the chamber. The fact they filled an MRSC rather than an SPMC/MPSR bottle also suggests they were confident they had formation water rather than gas.

So re contents of the chamber we have three possible scenarios:

- gas and filtrate
- gas and formation water
- gas, filtrate and formation water.
