I'm confused.

re " Lets see how much they 'contribute' first..." (bolding added to highlight your emphasis)

At first glance, the inverted commas appear redundant. Superfluous, even. Did you perhaps mean to say:

'Lets see how much 'they' contribute first...',

or..

'Lets see how much they contribute 'first'...'?

It's even conceivable, assuming one is trying to indicate a US national health conspiracy of some kind involving key federally funded bodies, that it would have more impact if framed as:

'Lets 'see' how much they contribute first...'.

But, for me, the real gotcha moment IMO was when you said "Lets ....", because of course you meant to say " Let's..." and there's just no us.
