I actually take a daily interest in what is happening to the value of my money as I don't have a great deal and I've lost amounts previously by sitting back and thinking " she'll be right mate " just sit back and let it happen.
But sometimes it doesn't , despite the fact research has been done, so keeping eye on daily variations and reading comments, allows you to make an exit at a opportune time for a profit, or avoid a loss that can leave you with little resources left, particularly when you may not be around for endless years until the " the long term investment " matures.
