Well in this case (and you know much more than I do) I see it as a question of whether the company can stay alive if/until the price of almonds increases and/or the harvest improves. While I need to review these results closely (and even with that I am still an amateur), my intuition says it can.
The crux of it is that I'm happy to sit on a loss for as long as it takes, so long as the long term thesis remains intact. If anyone has thoughts on whether this company might not be able to make it that far, I would love to hear.
