    @Whisky49

Thankyou Whisky for confirming for me that this PTS post trade off study was put forward by none other than PLL.

Upon revisiting the entire PTS study release 23rd June 2023 by SYA a trade off study is not mentioned in it once. Not once! They published a 9 page document on the study....

Now PLLs announcement on 3rd July was one page and mentioned trade off, refer last paragraph:

If you actually read the PTS correctly there is 100% certainty of moving downstream to carbonate. No mention of trade of studies etc... An these quotes from the PTS should confirm this:

Sayona to advance definitive technical study for lithium carbonate plant’s restart, targeting
    production as early as 2026
, amid focus on North American supply chain for battery/EV sector.

Based on the positive study, Sayona now plans to commission a definitive technical study for the
production of battery‐grade lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) from spodumene (lithium) concentrate. Subject
to the study’s timing and outcomes, the carbonate plant could be commissioned as early as 2026
    .

So if you ready the above which was mentioned on page 1 of the article about DTS for carb plant restart and then pair it with the conclusion of the announcement:

    Next steps
Based on the positive results of the preliminary study and the financial analysis, Sayona Québec has
decided to move forward with a definitive technical study for the restart of lithium chemicals production
    at NAL.
To achieve the development schedule as shown in the preliminary study, major equipment packages
would need to be awarded early on to secure equipment delivery in line with the preliminary
construction schedule to ensure potential commissioning in 2026, subject to the definitive technical
    study’s timing and outcomes.

So they have decided to move to a DTS for the restart of NAL and while they say lithium chemicals production, they are probably sick of writing CARBONATE!

Please connect the dots Whiskey, they decided to pursue the DTS study. What was the first quote again. DTS study for, what type of plant was it again????

Others have said they spoke to Dougal etc and hear the same tune, this trade off rubbish has been pushed by PLL. Its crystal clear to me. An as Split has pointed out, the longer we delay the longer we study the more it costs SYA in NPV, lead times become missed and the PTS which is preliminary to advancing the project is missed. This is because as per the PTS to successfully achieve the PTS components, long lead time items need to be secured early on. Our management isnt going to secure these lead time items if they are now running around for PLL doing poxy trade off studies....

Have management secured all long lead items for carb plant production restart? That should also be a question we ask this mob. Because if they havent and they are still doing "studies" it just proves what some here are saying.
