Correct, the projections also hang on a knife's edge and can be so easily skewed by any change in demand/supply quite easily. But from what I've noticed there's a fair bit of disingenuous information floating around which could either be due to people just reading headlines and regurgitating, or unknown entities benefiting from such information being out there. We honestly would never know, but it is observable there's bad info floating around.
