I am thinking the response will be something along the lines that most mining applications on territories owned by First Nation people, (in North America, Australia, etc) are opposed until they get to a position that they will accept.
I would think there are very few applications that are totally rejected.
There are 200 active mines in Quebec and probably many more that have been abandoned, so it is not mission impossible.
As far as Authier goes, it appears now that the future of NAL does not depend on it, which will help SYQ to negotiate.
Having worked in remote indigenous communities in Australia, I know that it is very difficult to arrive at an agreement on any issue.
Having said that, it can be done.
Cindy Valence has been working hard in Quebec to break down the barriers.
