- Wireline includes any operations involving a sonde of some sort suspended on a wireline and usually transmitting date back to surface via same wireline. With TLC the drill string supports the tool but a wireline is still required for communication with the tools.
- an MDT is a wireline formation test tool.
- wording in announcements is at times ambiguous and I feel that more effort needs to be taken to cater for the lay people reading these documents. The blurb in the latest one about 100% formation in the samples is unnecessary detail IMO. A simple statement that they successfully got off the plugs is sufficient. Wish they'd gone into the same amount of detail when discussing the contents of the MDT sample chamber in the last announcement.
