It's funny really that although Australia in it's formation was a coat of many colours, from all parts of the world, that it needed to have Al Grassby to decide we needed a specific program to become multicultural
So it is not a word to describe a specific situation but just a political slogan penned for a purely political reason
And the sooner we remove it from our language the better
I am proud of my ancestors and the genes and DNA that I inherited from them, as I think that most people should be, but they are ancestors nothing to what I am as an Australian
As to Australia being racist, I first experienced racism when the Olympic games came to Australia in 56, and I was at various meetings, dinners etc and was staggered by the "hate" that some of the o/seas people showed to others
Any racism in Australia has been imported, like the crime and dissolution of our national identity
