this is excellent news. they were talking about it for a while, theyre now doing it.

    Brief recap.
Jesse 1 hit the mark. It found a gas reservoir and it had 1% helium.
The only problem was the well extended into the water bearing part of the formation (the water sits under the gas).
When they produced from the open hole, the water started coming in too.
They have since done a work over, but still unable to isolate the gas from the water.
The current plan is to isolate the water bearing part of the formation with rubber seals.
They will then pump an acid mix into the gas bearing part of the formation, with a view to opening up the pores...and producing from this part, without interference from the water that sits below.
Sounds like they're getting ready to go with this. Hopefully it succeeds. 1% Helium is pretty cool.

As an aside...the Helium is thought to have derived from the basement. Lithium is the next element in the periodic table...I wonder if they have sampled the water for Lithium?

If successful...Id say theres a good chance they will have a crack at Jesse 2. Jesse 2 dd not find the porosity/permeability they saw in Jesse 1. It found the same rocks, they just did not have holes in them. In this jurisdiction, they are allowed to frac. One of the things they could do is get in there with some acid and make some cracks in the rocks...in these rocks, you could hit a connected fracture system or a more permeable zone within a few meters of the well bore. These are relatively cheap workovers.
