I've processed today's numbers but not looked at them. I'll check all 13 stocks and get back to you tomorrow.

It's not unusual to have a large return shown and for it to be reversed the following day with a similar figure in the same order of magnitude.

Much less common in my opinion to have a large increase and then a return.

it may be that shares are shorted by overseas entities and they report overnight with a lag.

If a large borrow/return is shown and is not reversed in the following 2 days it is probably legitimate. Such reversals are not common.

If the gross shorts reduces then the system is showing a return and not a further sublet. I should think a sublet would add to the gross shorts if in fact it is legal.

I'll do a broad check tomorrow and see what it reveals and post my observations.
