It also reduces the wear on brake drums and asbestos brake pads, further reducing pollution. A further saving is on acceleration and braking time. This could allow up to a 10% increase in the number of bins collected in any day.

Engineers at the local Uni are working on refining the electronics and checking for any possible safety issues.
