at the moment there is no difference between an old fashioned income annuity and WAM on the 5 year chart. in some cases buying an annuity has more advantages.
l have it marketed in my diary when l can exit and claim the franking because at this stage l will outlive the entity. l like direct holdings ETF's and LIC's but this is on the road to oblivion because of high divs
a big Div is a very very bad thing unless you need the cash. no Div is a very very good thing.
