    you are not correct
    there is no conductive channel - there are no nanowires - you must be thinking of some other device

    as previously posted-
    the doped silicon forms a crystalline lattice under bias polarity ....the ionic transfer occurs through the hole traps formed in the lattice
    via oxygen vacancies accumulated during cycling ....they are referred to as oxygen filaments not silicon nanowires
