''It is already evident that EV's cost more to insure due to fire risk, tyres wear out quicker simply because they are heavier,''

this is another thing of course about simple people ---------- they talk shit

as opposed to what really is

''In fact, electric vehicle fires are so rare that statistics show internal combustion engine (ICE) cars are 20 to 80 times more likely to catch fire compared to EVs. Electric bikes and scooters also have a higher chance of catching fire compared to EVs, making electric cars relatively fire-safe compared to other vehicles on the road.''

https://www.greencarstocks.com/stat...tric vehicle fires, catch fire compared to EVs.

now - if EV's are more expensive to insure because of fire risk - then, insurance companies are just duding customers - the risk is less, not more

now - perhaps you might like to then research your comment on tyre wear and weight ------- because, there too - it is just not that simple

you will probably find that it's more to do with heavier acceleration - because EV's can go much harder than little petrol and diesel cars - because - they can.

I posted some refs on tyre wear - in relation to a discussion on taxis a few weeks back - there was a good article on the details of why tyres where in that discussion --------------- far deeper than a simpleton statement of ------------- 'because they are heavier'

I'll let you find that one - I'd already done it at least once
