The concern will be if BYD/CATL decide to and do procure their own supply, of which there is some evidence emerging of this, they do not need to buy it from anyone, they do not need to worry about a spot price, they simply obtain it and then refine it and put it into their products then sell the batteries and cars to the world. That will be a large corner of the market there, they can simply go direct to Brazil. African, whichever government for massive land and tenements, they do not worry about bribes and due process.
It is not unlike how Tesla sells direct to consumer and is disrupting the dealership model.
In cases of IO and copper and gold this is not so easy as there is not an abundance of the stuff, Li seems to be found on every corner of the earth and in large levels at this stage. Australia, China, Chile, Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Saudis also beginning to enter the space in their vast deserts.
Not sure that is all going to happen or even likely to happen but to me not all that far fetched is it?
